Little Hands, Big Hearts at Lentor Residence

After our call for plushy donations, Amira and Amelia’s family showed up in the sweetest way. They donated 31 soft toys for the residents at Lentor Residence, then spent an afternoon going floor to floor with the care team to hand them out. In total, 33 seniors received a new cuddle companion.

To make the visit even sweeter, a 4-year-old Eleanor joined in and brought Apollo cakes to share. Together, the children greeted each senior, offered a soft toy with two hands, and made sure everyone felt seen.

“I love walking around giving things to the elderly. Each time, they would return with a happy smile.” — Amira

As the group moved through three floors and sections, the girls noticed small details that matter.

“The uncle looks so skinny, he needs more calcium.” — Amelia

These moments are why smol acts count. A soft toy can calm the hands, spark a memory, or become a daily companion. A small cake can turn a regular afternoon into a mini celebration. Most of all, kind attention reminds seniors they are not alone.

Thank you to Amira, Amelia and Eleanor’s family, and the Lentor Residence staff for guiding the visit with care.

Young ones can volunteer too. See our tips for preschooler-friendly visits: Volunteering with Preschoolers.
