Crafty, Caring, and Always Ready to Help

At just 9 years old, Amber is already making a big impact in her own gentle way. She first got involved with Smol Boss when she asked to tag along with her mom to GoodLife! Makan, a senior activity centre, to help out with a craft session. What started as a simple visit turned into something much more meaningful.

Amber quickly discovered that she loved being around seniors, not just because she enjoys crafting, but because of the special connection she felt.

“The seniors are really friendly,” Amber said. “They always say thank you and smile at me. I think we both enjoy spending time together.”

It’s a mutual friendship — the seniors appreciate Amber’s cheerful energy, and she enjoys their company, stories, and warmth.

Amber is a fast learner, and even during her first visit, she was quick to notice when someone needed help and stepped in without being asked. She’s known for being observant, sociable, and a diligent little teacher, always ready to guide others with patience and care.

When she’s not volunteering, Amber has plenty of other talents too! She’s a member of the Singapore Symphony Children’s Choir, where she hones her beautiful singing voice, and she also fences in her free time – a mix of grace, focus, and strength!

Amber might be second youngest Smol Friends, but she shows that age doesn’t matter when it comes to kindness, connection, and doing your part to make the world better.
