Making a Senior’s Home Smell Like a 5-Star Hotel!
Today’s workshop was one of my favourites! We went to teach a group of seniors how to make aromatic wax tablets. It was not just any kind, but ones that smell like 5-star hotel lobbies!

We taught them how to melt wax, add colours, and decorate with dried flowers. The best part was making small wax shapes like leaves and butterflies to add to their tablets. It was like a fun mix of science and art — lots of experimenting with colours, scents, and floral arrangements.

Seniors said they had so much fun learning something new. One of them said, “Wah! My house going to smell so atas!” That made all of us laugh.

Benjamin, Elizabeth, and Amber went around the room teaching, troubleshooting, and topping up materials. They were super busy but still kept smiling the whole time.

Ashton had an important job too. He was in charge of the lighter! He kept it safely in his apron pocket, and whenever anyone needed to light their tealight candle, we just shouted “Fire!” and Ashton would appear like magic to help.

After the workshop ended, we all helped to clean and pack up the place together. It felt great to see how happy the seniors were, and to know we helped make their homes feel a little more special.
